During the development of the Bergreif, the goal was to extract the maximum possible aerodynamic benefit from every gram. For the SL version, we went one step further and equipped the wheelset with the best and lightest components to achieve an incredible weight of 986 g.
The combination of extremely low weight and aerodynamics makes the Bergreif SL a wheelset that can be an objectively better choice over a deep aero wheel, even for strong riders. The low weight is not only an objective performance advantage, but also ensures responsiveness and confidence-inspiring handling, making your ride more enjoyable.

Maximized Aerodynamics for Every Gram
We chose the rim profile so that each additional gram of weight brings even more aerodynamic benefits than the previous one. A taller rim would be even more aerodynamic, but the aerodynamic gain per additional gram decreases. The weight is invested more efficiently elsewhere, for example in our Luftschneider cockpit.
Wind Tunnel Tested
We tested the Bergreif in the legendary GST wind tunnel. Compared to the significantly heavier DT Swiss ARC1400 with 55 mm high rims, they performed surprisingly well and came much closer to the aero specialists than other wheels in this weight class.
The Lightest Components
For the hubs and spokes, we pushed things to the limit, using the best and lightest components available. Vonoa carbon spokes connect our lightweight and aerodynamic Bergreif rim with the Primaro hub from Nonplus.
Modern Rim Profile
With an inner width of 23 mm, we have maximized the width for 28 mm tires within ETRTO regulations. For a reliable tire fit, we use a rim profile with hooks that is optimized for use with tubeless tires.
