Racing across the prairie, tackling steep climbs, and navigating tricky sections: that’s what gravel riding is all about. With its combination of aerodynamics, lightweight construction, and a rim profile optimized for gravel tires, the Kornkreis is built for exactly that.
Gravel can mean many things, which made it an exciting challenge for us. In line with our philosophy of delivering performance in every riding situation, we developed the Kornkreis. Our gravel wheel is characterized by a good balance of aerodynamics and lightweight construction, as well as a rim profile that works with a wide range of tires.

Lightweight Construction
When it comes to achieving balanced performance, weight is a factor that cannot be overlooked; accordingly, it was important to us that the Kornkreis be among the lightest of the aerodynamically optimized wheels.
Wind Tunnel Tested
We tested the Kornkreis wheels in the legendary GST wind tunnel. All measurement data shown were recorded at 35 km/h, using 45 mm-wide Hutchinson Caracal Race tires. As can be seen in the graph, the Kornkreis performs on par with other, significantly heavier aerodynamically optimized wheels.
Well-Proven Components
When it comes to hubs and spokes, we rely on tried-and-tested components. DT Swiss 240 and 350 hubs are considered the most reliable on the market, offering durability and lightness.
DT Aerolite spokes are the best DT Swiss has to offer. They combine minimal weight with an aerodynamic cross-section. We opted for the classic version with a J-bend head, as our measurements showed that this contributes to a stiffer and more aerodynamic wheel.
Modern Rim Profile
With an inner width of 27 mm, we have maximized the width allowed for 40 mm tires under the ETRTO standard. This allows you to choose the best tire for any application without restrictions. The maximized inner width ensures that the tire is well supported in corners and increases the volume, which reduces rolling resistance. To ensure a secure tire fit, we use a rim profile with hooks that is optimized for tubeless tires.
